PERSONALITY
- NARCISSISTIC and SOCIAL; Berrythorn is a narcissistic cat by all definitions. He does not only think that he can do things better than others, he knows that he is better. And he has absolutely no issues letting others know of his superiority.
- UNREMARKABLE; Unfortunately for the tom, he is unremarkable average. Even if he ‘knows’ he is better than everyone else, in actuality, he is not. His fighting skills are not above par, nor are his hunting skills. He has no unusual physical abilities. He is not even overly intelligent, no matter how smart he thinks he is.
- PERFECTIONISTIC and EASILY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF; He is perfectionistic and will not finish a task until it is absolutely perfect. He will even go to the lengths of taking chores away from others if they are not ‘doing it as good as Berrythorn could.’ Because of this, Berrythorn can be very easy to take advantage of. If someone else purposely messed up their task, Berrythorn would whisk it away without a second thought.
- CLEAR-HEADED and LOGICAL; He is very clear-headed though, and is a good problem solver. His level of actual knowledge retaining abilities, though lack. He tends to solve problems using rational methods, instead of doing what would be more sympathetic. This can sometimes cause him to make choices that, technically, are not bad, still get him into trouble.
- SENSITIVE and AGGRESSIVE; This cat is very sensitive, does not deal with it like shyer cat with lower self-esteems do. If any cat dares get on his bad side, they will be hated and argued with until either Berrythorn, or his enemy dies or leaves the clan.
- DEFENSIVE and DISRESPECTFUL; He becomes defensive easily, and is not afraid to snap at anyone who he thinks deserves it. Whether this is a kit, a warrior, or even the leader, it does not matter to Berrythorn. He will make sure that everyone knows that he is not a punching bag to be pushed around.
- IDEALISTIC and LOUD-MOUTHED; Berrythorn believes that each cat has something good hidden inside them, and does his best to pull it out. He knows that the world is a beautiful place, and firmly believes that, if everyone works together, they can make it even more perfect. His optimism sometimes puts others away from being with him, as he tends to be very loud about his opinions and others cannot always relate to his unwavering believe in the good side.
- CASUAL and EMOTIONAL; He talks to most cat’s casually, even those in higher places than himself. He can also be very emotional, though he prefers to hide all of his feelings in a ball inside his belly. He hates how expressive he can be, and wishes that he could be more stoic.
- PROTECTIVE and RELIGIOUS; Berrythorn is very protective of everything he can call his own, whether it be other cats, his believes, his possessions, or his ideas. This includes his devotion to StarClan, which he has vowed to follow through any darkness he might face.
HISTORY
- Redclaw and Tallfoot were a rather odd couple. Tallfoot was known for his kind and meek nature, while Redclaw was feisty and prepared to fight any cat that ever stood in her way. Despite their conflicting personalities, the two managed to make things work. Redclaw found herself pregnant, and waited as long as possible to move into the nursery. Tallfoot seemed to be much more excited about the prospect of being a parent than Redclaw. He was seen sitting in the nursery, chatting with the other queens about their litters before Redclaw even moved into the safer den.
- Mintkit and Berrykit were born in the late evening, just when many of their clanmates were heading off to their nests. Mintkit took after her father's pale grey pelt, while Berrykit looked a lot more like his mother. Tallfoot was absolutely astounded. He was filled with so much pride and joy from the second he saw them. Redclaw was too tired to care, as her labor had been very long and hard.
- In the next couple days, Redclaw quickly became just as emotionally attached to her litter as her mate. However, unlike Tallfoot who just coddled his beautiful babies, she believed in a more tough love approach. She still showed the pair affection, but did her best to not treat them as helpless.
- Mintkit and Berrykit, like their parents, had conflicting personalities. Mintkit was relatively shy and very compassionate, always looking out for the best for her clan. Berrykit was too focused on bragging about himself to care about what was going on in the clan. The only reason he ever did anything productive was to show just how great he was to other cats.
- The litter had a relatively typical kithood. Berrykit often got in trouble for sassing the warriors and queens, while Mintkit remained the little angle that her father saw her as. Berrykit didn't resent her for this. He knew that he would not need the attention as much as she would. After all, he felt that he was too good at everything to need parents. His kithood was when his complex was the greatest.
- The pair became apprentices at the same time, as was typical for littermates. Berrypaw was assigned a strict tom by the name of Mousefang. Despite his smaller stature, Mousefang was known for not being the nicest cat on the cliff. But instead of straightening Berrypaw out, the young apprentice just pushed back harder. He became a real pain in the tail, and was almost always finding his way into trouble. After being forced to stay at camp during a gathering for one too many times, he finally decided to at least pretend to cooperate. He knew that, in his heart, he wasn't behaving, but he was just pretending to behave. This, obviously, was not at all true, but Berrypaw felt more comfortable with his compliance if he thought that he was still following his own rules.
- During this time, Berrypaw started to grow up a bit. He recognized that he had a crucial role to play in clan life, and worked hard to provide for his clan. Of course, he knew that he was the only one who could help his clan in such a huge way. Without him, they would never make it. These thoughts drove him to be a bit of a try hard, and he went out of his way to fix the 'mistakes' that the other apprentices were making. This is also the time that he began to really put his faith in StarClan.
- Berrypaw was named Berrythorn for his defensive and prickly personality, but Berrythorn convinced himself that it was for his 'amazing' fighting skills. Even as a warrior, he was blind to his inadequacy.
- Berrythorn began to get closer to his sister, now named Mintfur, as a young warrior. He was not very popular among his other clanmates despite his charm and social attitude, but Mintfur managed to tolerate his issues. The two became very close friends, and Berrythorn cherished their relationship. He tried to deny it for a time, telling himself that he didn't need anyone because he was just that strong, but he eventually admitted that he really enjoyed her company.
- The two remained extremely close. So far, Berrythorn has not made many friends outside of his family. He no longer talks to his past mentor much, due to memories of the 'unjustified' punishments that he had received so frequently as an apprentice. He is still rather aggressive, and has been caught in yelling matches with his clanmates once or twice. His relationship with his parents and his sister are basically the only ones he has left, and he would protect them to the very end. Even though he won't admit it, he longs for some cat to like him for reasons outside of blood relations. He would never, ever, own up to this though. He is far too tough to need anyone.
