MILKNOSE of CURRENTCLAN
34 MOONS • DEPUTY
TOM • BISEXUAL
SHORT DESCRIPTION
longhaired flame-point cream tom with blue eyes.
PERSONALITY
- Laid-back – Milknose seems to take everything in his stride, and is always open for a laugh and sharing tongues with those around him. It takes a lot to rattle him.
- Calm – He tends to give off an aura of a cat who has himself together. While that’s not always the truth, it can ease those around him in stressful situations.
- Easily flustered – After a rather harsh apprenticeship and with Tornadostar for a best friend, he can be a little easy to fluster when surprised or complimented.
- Strategic – Likely his biggest skill beyond tracking, Milknose has a mind for the battlefield and taking on problems, and does his best to use that to CurrentClan’s advantage.
- Milknose often acts like he doesn’t have anything better to do. Of course, there’s plenty he could and is doing, but, he feels by giving out the impression, others approach him more and it makes him more open.
- Playful – There isn’t a time of day when Milknose isn’t up for some sort of game or joking around, and he actively encourages play by cats of all ages, it keeps them young.
- Loyal – CurrentClan is his birth clan, his home and highest right. He’d do anything for them and give his life without hesitation to protect any member within their ranks.
- Confident – Milknose knows himself, and has a solid confidence in his abilities and opinions, often lending him into a slightly arrogant gray area at times.
- Over-protective – However, given his urge to protect, he can sometimes go too far, often getting nosy and being too quick to act.
- Reckless & Impulsive – He acts, then thinks. If something needs to be done, he’ll do it with no care for his own life or the consequences. CurrentClan and the lives of the clan come first.
- Stubborn – Once he has set his mind of something, you won’t find Milknose changing it, to the point of being closed-minded.
- Too lenient – Milknose tends let cats around him get away with too much. He gives too many leeway cards, forgives readily and avoids punishment where he can. Often, if something wrong’s happened, you want Milknose over Tornadostar to choose the punishment.
- Slightly gullible – That being said, he is still a young cat, and leaves himself open to being taken advantage of, and has a rather gullible nature.
- Morally grey – All said and done, when Milknose does finally have enough, he’s not a cat who really gives a whole lot of mercy. His morals are sketchy at the best of times, and he has no hesitation to break the rules and take matters into his own hands. Everything is for the better of the clan.
- Rule breaker – He’s far from a cat who takes the rules seriously, and is well known to lean toward going too far with taking his own spin on things.
- Milknose has no belief in StarClan, nor any interest in changing that. As far as he’s concerned, the cats in the moment make up the lives they live, not some starry-pelted dead cats.
- Perhaps more important than anything else is this important aspect of Milknose. He thrives in the limelight. With cats around, he is always seeking to prove himself, to show he’s a valid member of the clan, coming from a deep-routed self-consciousness about if he really belongs. He wants to prove himself and be worthy to almost every member of the clan. It is in the company of his clan-mates that Milknose is at his strongest. A skilled tracker, fighter, hunter. He can do anything in the company of his clanmates. However, understand that most of these skills disappear as soon as he’s out of the eyes of others, or if he’s around a cat who he feels entirely comfortable with. He relaxes, the strain and pressure gone, and at this time, Milknose can barely walk in a straight line without tripping over his own paws. He is practically useless without someone with him, yet, he doesn’t see the issue. He blames it on a bad day, troublesome paws and just being “one of those times”. He doesn’t realise the problem or the cause.
HISTORY
- Milknose’s family was the perfect example of pure CurrentClan blood, with both his parents respected and strong warriors of the clan. Of course, they passed on this expectation to their kits. Milk-kit and Dandelionkit were born into these expectations, from the member they were deemed by name one night in the nursery, a day after their birth.
- Yet, while Dandelionkit showed plenty of promise, outgoing and enthusiastic, Milk-kit was… very much not that. He was timid, hesitant, and had absolutely no ambition to be anything in the clan, something that brought great exasperation to his mother particularly. He was going to be leader one day, she kept saying, he needed to shape up. That just made things worse.
- All things considered, he was a relatively well-liked kit, his gentle, playful attitude winning him many friends early, allies, as his father used to fondly say.
- In becoming an apprentice, it seemed to be that the leader also wanted him to reach great heights, landing him in the paws of a tiny black tom by the name of Sootslash. While he’d laughed a little about it in the beginning, the tom was his size, if not smaller! Sootslash quickly put him in his place.
- His apprenticeship was fast, furious, not letting up for even a moment as Sootslash dragged him through the most over-the-top, obscure, almost ludicrous training he could think of. Yet, it seemed to work. Milkpaw started to come out of his shell, he started focusing on others, his clumsiness was forced under control by his urge to succeed, to protect, to serve.
- It was the reason that when Tornadopaw was accepted into the clan when he was eight moons, that his training eased a little, and he was set in charge of looking after the deputy’s new apprentice.
- They were different in personality, almost entirely. But, Milkpaw took a liking to the tom, and decided the clan he came from didn’t matter. He was a clan mate, and that meant that Milkpaw needed to prove to him too that he was worth his place in the clan.
- Together, Milkpaw taught Tornadopaw to swim while Barracudafang was busy with duties, at once stage slipping into the water himself, and earning the nickname ‘milksoppy’. Milkpaw laughed it off. However, the nickname stuck after a small while later, when he ended up in a current that was too strong, and ended up being rescued by the newest member of the clan.
- He didn’t get to spend as much time with Tornadopaw after that, as Sootslash ramped up the intensity of his training again. However, the two toms eventually became warriors together, their oddly matched personalities somehow working together.
- Their warriors moons continued on, the ranks changing around them, and at 22 moons, Milknose was given his first apprentice, a confident tom by the name of Shadepaw. Together, they thrived however, and it seemed like Milknose’s clumsiness had left completely.
- But, when Shadepaw become Shadestep, well it was right back again.
- The flood took it’s toll on everyone’s will, and Milknose fought at the very front of the survival effort right beside Tornadoroar, helping organise the clan and move things successfully around, at one stage, an apprentice got lost in the current, and without care, Milknose launched after him, catching the she-cat and dragging her to safety, but in the process having a large, jagged piece of tree strike him across the chest, leaving a long and permanent scar.
- This event would take their leader, and as Tornadostar stepped up as leader, regardless of being in the medicine cat’s den for the wound, Milknose was named deputy, much to his surprise. His family looked on, hardly surprised, and Milknose set his resolution. He was going to protect them all, and help Tornadostar make the clan stronger than ever.
