SMALLSTREAM of WHISPERCLAN
33 MOONS • WARRIOR
SHE-CAT • DEMISEXUAL
SHORT DESCRIPTION
a small white and grey tabby she-cat with green eyes and a twisted front left paw.
PERSONALITY
- CHEEKY; perhaps her most endearing trait. Playful in her own way, she likes to have fun and tease from time to time, which can make her seem a touch immature at times. However, anyone who knows her well knows that she is far from immature.
- CONFIDENT; her skills come from moons of hard training during her apprenticehood and more moons of experience as a warrior. As such, Smallstream is confident in her abilities and her instincts.
- HUMBLE; Smallstream doesn't tout her skills, nor does she expect others to. As far as she's concerned, she's just there to do her job, and do it well. That's her sole motivation for her performance.
- FLUSTERED; She's unused to compliments, and partially owing to her humble nature, they tend to fluster her like nothing else. Frequently she'll deny or reject any compliments she receives.
- STOIC; you'll never see her complain about a task or flinch from pain. Smallstream is remarkably stoic, and whining isn't exactly in her vocabulary. She also has a tendency to avoid seeking help unless she desperately needs it- which doesn't happen often.
- CONTROLLED; Smallstream is remarkably good at controlling her emotions. She's not distant, she does feel strongly- but she can channel them into her actions in a controlled and productive fashion until they lessen. It gives her an edge in both fights and heated debates, as she can focus calmly on what's at stake, even if she's dying for a fight.
- RUTHLESS; She has no pity for the other Clans; her only concern is WhisperClan. What little she does care for them, only really relates to how it affects her Clan. She does an okay job of keeping this under wraps, though if WhisperClan is threatened, don't expect her to be compassionate towards her enemies.
- SACRIFICIAL; She's not special. She's not crucial to the survival of her Clan- important, yes, but not vital- and so she'd gladly give her life for it. Her family and closest friends fall into this category as well, though for a slightly different reason. They may not be vital to the Clan, but they are the utmost importance to her, and that's all that counts.
- OVER-THINKER; she's got an eye for detail, and plenty of logic and reasoning skills, but also has a tendency to analyze and overthink things to death. She can get a bit carried away with her thoughts when this happens.
- LOVING; She's extremely affectionate with her close friends, and she's not shy about it. Smallstream can be pretty physical- playful sparring, rubbing pelts, cuddling, and the like. Her affections are unconditional; once earned, she'd do anything.
HISTORY
- Her family was well-renowned for their ferocious fighting ability, long before she was born. Sedgestorm and Alderfang had already made names for themselves as skilled, dedicated, and at times vicious warriors.
- When it was announced that the two warriors were having kits, it was speculated that the little ones would be just as powerful as their parents with time. Four kits were born: Rainkit, Nettlekit, Birchkit, and last, Smallkit. Sedgestorm and Alderfang were proud of their litter.
- As kits the litter is nothing short of model. They are well-behaved and polite... at least, as long as the queens were watching. Smallkit is the most mischievous of the bunch, often goading the other kits in the nursery into sneaking out of camp or putting beetles in the leader's den, and then sitting back to watch when they got in trouble.
- They were apprenticed at the age of six moons. Now Smallpaw, the she-cat received a tom named Reedtail as her mentor. The warrior was a wiry cat, and very smart, and Smallpaw quickly grew to respect him.
- Alderfang had his own apprentice to take care of around this time, but Sedgestorm didn't; the she-cat spent her spare time in the company of her kits. Frequently, this meant sparring matches and extra training, and it was from her mother that Smallpaw learned the bulk of her more advanced fighting moves, picking up right where Reedtail left off.
- It began to show, as the four apprentice's training took off. True to WhisperClan's reputation of being mysterious and secretive, rumors began to spread throughout the territory, each more outrageous than the last- that the parents were being too hard on their kits, that they had cruel training methods, and more. However, Smallpaw and her siblings were more than willing to train, and uphold their family's reputation.
- By the time they were eight moons old, it was speculated that they were on track to be promoted to warriors at the age of ten moons. However, during one of their sparring sessions, a rough shove from Rainpaw and a misstep led to the she-cat taking a short tumble. It could have been worse- had she not landed on the fragile jutting ledge, she would have died- but it resulted in a broken leg.
- Somehow the she-cat managed to claw her way back up towards her siblings, who couldn't quite reach her from stable ground. Her small size saved her- a normal sized cat surely would have collapsed the ledge. They accompanied her back to the medicine cat's den.
- Smallpaw was stuck there for a solid moon, quietly fuming at herself. Her leg healed, but badly due to the stress she put on it climbing back up the rocky face, and it remained twisted. Rainpaw, Birchpaw, and Nettlepaw, refused to be made warriors without their sister, and deliberately slowed their training.
- When she was finally released, there was some apprehension about whether or not she would be able to continue her studies. But perhaps it was her determination or her hard training from before that she was able to keep up- after all, her family had a reputation to keep up, and she was not about to let them down. Smallpaw learned to compensate for her mostly useless paw, picking it up when she ran and fought, paying extra attention to her steps, which slowly became swifter and surer than before.
- The three were named warriors just before their twelfth moon. Smallpaw was named Smallstream, for her newly found agility and sureness despite the events of her apprenticehood. It was a name she bore proudly.
- Life went on. Sure enough all of Sedgestorm's and Alderfang's kits proved to be warriors and fighters as strong as they were, and still they were proud. Later Sedgestorm had another kit by Alderfang, a single she-cat named Willowkit, a little sister that Smallstream loved dearly. A quieter and more carefree kit than the other siblings had been, it seemed that she didn't show as much promise (even when she became Willowpaw), but Smallstream didn't care. Willowpaw was family, that was all that mattered.
