38 MOONS • WARRIOR
TOM • BISEXUAL
SHORT DESCRIPTION
a long-haired dilute calico tom with yellow-green eyes
PERSONALITY
- MELODRAMATIC. certainly one to coin the dramatic gasps, willowfeather is very much an expressive tom who makes every step of swaggering gait. some of it is clearly exaggeration, while other portions of it seems to be him being completely serious. he's the one in a crowd to faint at small kits being born within the nursery and to draw loud attention to a low fresh-kill pile. he keeps his movements large and clearly visible, and he's not subdued in the slightest, someone who takes immediate stage presence and attention the instant that he walks in.
- HUMOROUS. what helps to balance out his melodrama is the fact that it is particularly comedic, among other things. willowfeather loves to have a good laugh, and part of his melodramatic disposition is for the show of it. he loves having fun with his companions and asserting that the best way to cope with tragedy is to laugh about it. while not a rock, he's someone who campaigns for the opposite, to show off all emotion about the situation, but do it in such a way that is constructive. rather than locking up, we should dance tragedy away. rather than shutting down, we should air our grievances with ugly cries and outbursts. he's a firm believer that life is too short to hold secrets, especially when it comes to how we feel - but that doesn't mean that we have to withdraw into ourselves for it. he's very playful, a natural part of his disposition.
- SOCIALITE. chatty and gossipy, willowfeather is definitely not above participating in discussions about other cats as well as worming his way into groups of friends if he can. he's someone who thrives off of social interaction and being a part of the "in", and as a result he isn't very shy at all about walking up to someone and beginning a conversation seemingly out of nowhere. he believes himself to know every cat within the clan and even have a few details on them that they won't share with anyone else. he's a tom who vastly prefers company and community to the feeling of being alone, and he'd likely sink very quickly into a kind of depression if forced into isolation. it's also what feeds into his loyalty for duskclan, even if what they may do is dubious.
- AIR-HEADED. that's not to say that he doesn't have common sense, or that he can't use rationale, but willowfeather is certainly a tom who doesn't always have his head in the game. he's got a dreamy, idealistic way of looking at life, and that leads to him coming off as spacey. he can even be a little materialistic, focusing too much on how he looks in a particular day rather than on how high the fresh-kill pile is. that isn't to say that he only cares about that sort of thing, because certainly the clan is important to him, but his attention can easily be drawn by the next shiny things and if he's impressive to the she-cats. he is, really, kind of scatterbrained.
- OPTIMISTIC. very much a tom to look at the bright side of things, willowfeather believes in the silver lining to every dark gray cloud. he'll find something positive to say about every situation if he can, and always attempts to keep everyone's chins up. his enthusiasm is seemingly limitless for picking everyone up off the ground, and he gains energy from each successful story he's managed to pass onto other cats. he looks for the good in everything, and everyone, and he believes wholeheartedly that things will turn out for the better, and even if it all looks bleak now, that isn't a permanent state of being.
- COMPASSIONATE. willowfeather allows himself to get deeply involved emotionally in other cats' issues. he loves and cares about everyone, and while he certainly prioritizes certain cats over others, he's more than willing to hear anyone out, regardless of clan. versus crowstar's willingness to forgive only within duskclan, willowfeather is willing to forgive in any clan. he is eternally loyal to duskclan and their needs will come to him first, but anyone is welcome within his circle. no one is a stranger, and everyone deserves a chance. he's also deeply invested in helping the young cats who need someone to help guide their way.
- HOPELESS ROMANTIC. very much so, willowfeather wants nothing more than to have a grand family filled with tiny kittens that he can dote over, and a loving she-cat (or tom, although he hasn't explored that option yet) for him to dedicate his time, energy, and effort to. he believes in full commitment and he's someone who thinks it's important that everyone has someone within their lives. if he were a human, he'd be the one who would buy a bunch of flowers for who he believed to be his soulmate and did whatever he could to make whoever it was happy, smile and all.
- GENTLE. willowfeather is not a hard-hitter or tough cookie by nature. although he can stand up for himself, generally he's accustomed to treating everyone with care and love. his outgoing and melodramatic disposition can make it seem like he'd be an explosive bomb, but make no mistake; this cat is probably one of the gentlest toms to ever grace duskclan. he knows how to step delicately through a topic and he's very kind and thoughtful toward others, willing to provide them with space but at the same time offer to get them fluffy blankets and tea whenever they need it. his voice, when not singing the national anthem of how he can't have a single drop of dirt on his fur today, can be very soft, and often normally is when he's not participating in his theatrics.
- WISTFUL. willowfeather is certainly a daydreamer. he's someone to long for a family, long for kits, long to be important to someone's life. it's more of a harmless wistfulness than anything else; rather than allowing himself to feel down about what he doesn't have, he tries to obtain it for himself. still, it's not difficult to catch him sighing as he envisions himself with a family for whom he can take care of.
- CLUMSY. all in all, willowfeather is someone who may not be super balanced on his feet, is a little spacey, but overall loves and cares for his clan. his biggest flaw really is his clumsiness, the fact that he can trip all over himself and then smile dazedly when he falls flat on the ground, and this can also apply to his understanding of how the world works as much as it does his physicality. he has mediocre battle tactics and although he is certainly not a weak warrior, he's not the best, either. in all honesty, if he'd been a she-cat, he likely would've been happier to take the mantle as a queen rather than as a warrior, though he's dedicated to his job and the training that he's learned. while a lack of skill doesn't equate to a lack of dedication, his lack of skill is fairly noticeable when looked for.
HISTORY
- The time of the wolf's invasion was a dark one. Milkheart, having lost her parents within the wild beast's aggression, fell into a deep trench-like depression that continued to follow her for moons. During this time of grieving, Eagleclaw reached out to her, in an attempt to meet her rescue. The two of them bonded over mutual loss, and it was as a result of this that the two of them decided to have a family together. They would ensure that the kits would not have to suffer the same pain.
- After a particularly difficult labor on Milkheart's part, a small dilute calico was born. Originally thought of as female, he'd been doted on by his parents as being one of the prettiest cats within the nursery. Even despite learning his actual sex and gender, they treated him the same. Dubbing him Willowkit, they spoiled him rotten, but luckily for the both of them he did not take life for granted.
- He quickly showed his socialite tendencies even within the nursery. He chatted up fellow kits as well as made himself well acquainted with apprentices. Some felt bothered by his persistent presence. Others appreciated it. Whatever the case, he made it clear that he loved company, and his parents facilitated this as they constantly provided him with someone to talk to.
- Willowkit also showed incredible interest in elder's tales. One of his wishes, odd as it was, was to grow up to be an elder and tell tales like that to young kits himself. He wanted to have a family like his parents did when he grew. It wasn't quite ambition, but at the same time it resembled it. The roles of leader and deputy did not appeal to him, nor the thirst to fight, so much as becoming close to and bonding with his fellow Clanmates. For him, the experience was within being part of a community, rather than participating in bloodthirst.
- He continued this trend when he became an apprentice, Willowpaw, to the old Falconsong. The tom treated him with patience and admired how Willowpaw focused his attention within his studies in becoming a warrior, even if the dilute calico demonstrated himself time and time again to be rather clumsy and perhaps not well suited to greater fights. Still, he worked hard and was no slouch, wanting to provide for the community as much as he wanted to be a part of it.
- The older he grew, the more he fantasized about having a family of his own. When he reached the age of ten moons, he already began to search for any cat he could place himself on the market for. It was not a reckless endeavor, either; he didn't want a bunch of mates and although he attempted to romance other cats within his Clan, delegating himself, at the time, to she-cats, barely any of their relationships actually stuck. He wanted to find "the one", and many of these cats found others more appealing than him. He wanted someone that he could commit to, and the other cat could do the same for him.
- His parents, of course, supported this disposition. They wanted grandkits, although they advised he wait until he was a warrior and focus for the time being on his apprentice duties. He eventually agreed to this, and soon earned his dainty and wonderful warrior name at the age of twelve moons, Willowfeather. He prided himself in how beautiful it was, but not to a vain extent. He simply recognized that, although silly and feather-headed, he certainly had his assets.
- During these in-betweens, Willowfeather started to take on a young apprentice by the name of Squirrelpaw. She quickly adopted many of his personality characteristics, such as his need to look good. She emulated step by step, although she took it further with her own sense of vanity, a habit which he has not managed to kick out of her.
- Unfortunately, tragedy struck in the form of a dog attacking their territory. Among them, Willowfeather sustained injuries, but not out of the aforementioned clumsiness. No, he'd done so in order to protect an apprentice about to be ravaged by the dog. He was acclaimed for heroism within the Clan, and despite his rather floaty-headed exterior, he quickly grew to be recognized as someone with real integrity and who cared deeply about his Clanmates, even if he was silly toward them.
- During the grieving time of his Clanmates, he further proved himself as someone who cared deeply for them by offering his shoulder to cry on. He smiled for their sake, made jokes, made melodrama to help to ease their minds in times of hardship. Rather than being bothered that he was clumsy, that he may never be the nitty gritty warrior that some cats may be more proud of, he took his strengths and added onto him. He allowed his compassion to shine through and opened his heart to his fellows, and through such companionship they managed to weather the storm and get past the dog threat.
- He also used this time during recovery to bring hope by training Squirrelpaw further, until she finally earned her warrior name of Squirrelstream. Not as airheaded as her mentor, she proved to be a very capable warrior and helped to support the Clan during its dark times.
- While not particularly close to Crowfrost, due to his keeping cats at arm's length, he still supported him and stood by his side as he took up deputy, and then leader mantles. He followed behind him, and still does, with unwavering devotion, and he was one of the first to accept his name whole-heartedly. He wishes to grow closer to the tom, having been intrigued by him since he was younger.
