PERSONALITY
+ EMPATHETIC
+ STRONG-WILLED
+ GENEROUS
+ ACCOUNTABLE
+ ASTUTE
+ COMPASSIONATE
Frostberry was the prime candidate for a medicine cat. Kind, compassionate, and studious. More concerned about the clans health rather than politics, Frostberry is a generous individual. Because they could care less about clan politics, the borders have become muddled and almost non-existent in their eyes. The warrior code is an after thought to this medicine cat, and they follow the path of StarClan. Frostberry would help a cat in need, regardless of the clan.
They follow their own code, one of compassion. Because of their natural ability to easily decipher the emotions of their clanmates and cats around them, they became a cat one could go to talk about their problems.
From a young age, Frostberry was known to be accountable and astute. They gained knowledge quickly no matter the subject, and because physical fighting was not their strong suit they preferred to get out of spats with words rather than claws.
= DIRECTIVE
= ORGANIZED
= LOYAL
= SPIRITUAL
Frostberry follows the words of their warrior ancestors very closely. Their religion is one of the things that gives them a purpose, and defines the very core of their existence. A loyal cat until the end, Frostberry will follow their leaders and their ancestors until the day they breathe their last breath.
Directive means that Frostberry is not afraid to give orders, and is not afraid to demand those to follow them when the situation deems it most necessary. It is a neutral trait, which makes them perfect for their job
Their connection to their warrior ancestors is something that Frostberry holds dear to their heart. From a young age they had always felt closer to StarClan, but had never truly acted on it. Their religion is something that gives them a purpose, which certainly helps them with their duties as a medicine cat.
- LIBERAL
- GULLIBLE
- IMPATIENT
- STUBBORN
- TRUCULENT
As smart as they are, Frostberry is incredibly gullible. Emotions run their mind, and think with their heart rather than their mind in times of stress. Truculent as ever, Frostberry rarely takes no for an answer. Even as the warrior code states that a clan leader's word is law, Frostberry is not afraid to argue with their leader. This does not go well with their stubborn personality.
Though their stubbornness has gotten them where they are now, it does not mean that it is not to be a flaw soon enough. Very liberal, Frostberry believes if there is enough to be brought around then it must be shared. If a clan is in need, Frostberry will push their leader to help if they can spare the paws and resources.
This gullible nature that Frostberry possesses can often combat their truculent ways. Not liking being taken advantage of, and certainly not one to be a push over, Frostberry can often come off as unpredictable. As smart as they are, when one outsmarts them they can be conned out of most anything. Be it prey, herbs, or their own feelings.

HISTORY
KITHOOD
Born to Petalspring and Smokemask, Fuzzykit and Frostkit were the newest addition to the steadily growing nursery of SkyClan. Frostkit was named for the unusual sheen of frost that covered the camp outside. They were born on a cold leaf-fall day, the temperature dropping harshly at night only to dip back up when the sun reached it's highest peak in the sky. Frostkit got along with their sibling well, in fact clung to him like a leaf clung to a tree in the wind. Fuzzykit was the rock that grounded the shy Frostkit. They played with their denmates from dusk to dawn as normal kits should have.
Unbeknownst to the litter was their parents declining relationship. Smokemask was a selfish tom who barely visited his kits, leaving Petalspring to care for her children by herself. The task, although not hard, did mess with her mentally. While still a wonderful mother, Petalspring became depressed at the apparent loss of her mate. Frostkit and Fuzzykit did their best for their mother, and only wanted her to be happy.
Leafbare came with it's own fair share of problems. The worst was an apparent breakout of a disease called yellowcough. Riverstorm and Codpaw fought hard to keep those effected by the illness healthy. It was only a matter of time until it reached the nursery, wheezes and coughs filled the den at night.
One morning Frostkit had been pulled aside after complaining of a sore throat. They had been given a bit of honey and sent back to their den with lots of rest to come. Petalspring had felt under the weather as well, only Fuzzykit unaffected. Their mother's fever grew wildly out of control, and her delirium got worse as her fever wracked her entire body. Not even lungwort was enough to heal the queen, and she slipped from their paws in the middle of the night.
Only after her death did Smokemask show remorse, and tried to fit into his kits lives to replace the absence of their mother. Frostkit was receptive, but Fuzzykit was not. He claimed that it was his fault that Petalspring had died, and kept Frostkit far away from the tom. The two of them took care of each other, and even when Smokemask tried to help them out was he met with Fuzzykit denying him access. He gave Frostkit no choice but to listen to him, that Smokemask was a bad tom.
APPRENTICESHIP
When becoming a 'paw, Frostpaw was given Fenneltail as a mentor. Fenneltail was a younger warrior but had enough seniority that [leader name] had deemed him ready to train an apprentice of her own. Fenneltail was a kind she-cat who was compassionate and patient. Frostpaw looked up to her like an older sister. Fuzzypaw had been given Pebblestripe a mentor, a senior warrior, even older than Fenneltail.
It was glaringly obvious that Fenneltail and Pebblestripe did not get along, that their teaching methods were polar opposite of each other. This was when Frostpaw and Fuzzypaw began to grow apart, Fuzzypaw grew attached to Pebblestripe and began to adapt parts of his mentors personality. Frostpaw did not approve of it, he had become too aggressive. While Fenneltail taught Frostpaw kindness and patience, Fuzzypaw had been taught aggressiveness and a machiavellian way of working.
The two grew further apart the more they went into their training. Frostpaw did not gain knowledge of fighting as well as they should have, although hunting was easy, it was clear Fenneltail was becoming frustrated at her apprentice's lack of success. Instead of listening, Frostpaw asked more questions.
Frostpaw was inquisitive. Inquisitive and frustrating.
During an assessment that pitted Fuzzypaw and Frostpaw against each other in a hunting competition, Frostpaw had gotten hurt. It was an accident, really. They had climbed a tree while chasing a bird, and had almost gotten it. Almost, until Fuzzypaw let out a fake shriek, to startle their littermate. Startled them right out of the tree, the apprentice plummeted to the ground. They fell with a dull thud.
They had been brought to the medicine den and miraculously, only suffered a sprained paw, dislocated shoulder, and a wrenched claw. A newly named Codtail had been the one to set their shoulder back in place. Of course it was a miracle gifted by StarClan that the apprentice had even survived. It was also a much needed occurrence, as Fuzzypaw became apologetic for their actions and visited their littermate as much as they could.
As Frostpaw spent time recovering in the medicine den, they observed Riverstorm and Codtail as they worked tirelessly to care for the cats that came in and out of their den. During this time, Frostpaw also developed knowledge of herbs, retaining information of salves and other treatments and how they worked. They also developed a friendship with Codtail, the two of them had gotten along fairly well. Codtail seemed grateful for Frostpaw's presence, as they were a calming presence amidst the chaos that was Riverstorm.
Their time spent in the medicine den had been a refreshing change, but soon the apprentice had been deemed fit to leave to return to their warrior duties. Frostpaw bid the medicine cat's a farewell, almost sad to leave. There was a certain pull to the medicine den, an allure that the life of a medicine cat had. It attracted Frostpaw, lit a fire in their heart that they didn't know wasn't already ignited.
Time passed and Frostpaw had soon gotten back to the calming lull of their training, of sleeping by their brother's side in the apprentice's den. Smokemask had continued to try and enter his kit's lives up until the day he decided to join the elders den. Frostpaw reluctantly agreed to her father's wishes, managing to drag Fuzzypaw along to at least try and get to know the tom. They could not help but feel empty as they continued their training as a warrior, a longing pulling Frostpaw's heart towards the medicine den. Their heart became troubled, walking aimlessly with no real goal in life.
Yet another illness ravaged the camp, taking the lives of a few of SkyClan's warriors and elder. Smokemask had been among the list of casualties as well. The death of Smokemask had created a hole in Frostpaw's heart, an unusual feeling seeing as they had not been that close to their father.
It seemed that despair was following SkyClan as in the coming moon, they had lost Riverstorm, as well. The old medicine cat had been slain in a battle, when WindClan grew hostile towards a patrol escorting her to the border. Lungwort was an important herb that only grew in the moor's, and [windclan medicine cat] had promised the she-cat a share. Riverstorm fought despite her code, and perished in that battle. The blow had hit them in the heart, and Codtail was devastated. Though she knew much and was more than qualified to be SkyClan's sole medicine cat, it was obvious the she-cat was not mentally ready.
A troubled apprentice you know well is the answer you seek.
StarClan's message came swift and clear. Codtail had received an answer to the questions she sought. Frostpaw was to be the next medicine cat of SkyClan. The medicine cat had pulled them aside to ask them, that they had been chosen by StarClan themselves to serve another purpose instead of another pair of claws. It was a great responsibility, but it was one that Frostpaw was willing to take on. With both Fenneltail and [skyclan leader] both agreeing to the idea, Frostpaw immediately took on the role of medicine cat apprentice.
MEDICINE CAT APPRENTICESHIP
Life as a medicine cat came easily to Frostpaw, as if they were given the innate ability to heal and comfort. It certainly helped that Frostpaw got along with Codtail, and they were quick to become close. While Codtail had much to teach about herbs and how to treat a sick cat, the ability to decipher StarClan's most cryptic words came much easier, and those lessons did not last long.
Their first StarClan dream had been during their initiation at the moonstone. They found themselves back in SkyClan's camp, with Petalspring sitting in the center next to the pool of water in the center of it all. While it was a joy to see their mother once again, Petalspring did not have much to say. Frostpaw had tried not to let their emotions get to them, but Petalspring's silence hurt them, and they shouted at the starry warrior.
"Petalspring, why won't you answer me? I've done so much in my life- can't you at least tell me you are proud of me?"
Yet she did not reply, and instead turned her nose to the water of the pool that rested in the middle of SkyClan's camp. "My child, it is not time for sweet reunions. Right now... you must listen to my words. Your life has been so easy up until this point, but in the coming moons your loyalty will be tested. You must decide whether you will follow your heart, or your mind."
Almost immediately after uttering the words, Petalspring has flitted out of existence, leaving Frostpaw alone in the camp. Words echoed around the gorge's walls, playing over and over again in Frostpaw's ears.
The winds will fail to carry what they seek the most, and leave a trail of blood in it's wake.
Eventually Fuzzypaw completed his warrior training, and takes on the name Fuzzymask. Frostpaw is touched by the compassion their littermate has once he confesses it is to honor Smokemask. Frostpaw promises to continue their training and work even harder so that eventually, the two of them can stand side by side with their full names.
As Frostpaw continues their education, having sunk into the soft lull of their new daily life, the clan moves around them in a circle. At night Codtail had been slipping away, and Frostpaw learned exactly why until it was too late. They discover that their mentor had been meeting with a WindClan warrior named Thornclaw in secret, and Frostpaw desperately begs her to cease all contact with this warrior. The silver she-cat reluctantly agreed and said her sorrowful goodbyes to the tom, and was promptly escorted back to camp by their own apprentice.
At twenty moons, Frostpaw is gifted the name Frostberry, a fitting name for the cat who can learn a herb and commit them to memory almost immediately. They soon find themselves back within the comfortable dull roar of clan life, working alongside Codtail to help SkyClan whenever they needed their services.
But the peace does not last as Codtail confessed to Frostberry of the sins that she had committed. Even after promising her apprentice, she continued to meet Thornclaw in secret. But now it was difficult, as Codtail had been carrying his kits, and Frostberry was devastated at the news. Their mentor had broken not one code, but had broken two codes.
Your life has been so easy up until this point, but in the coming moons your loyalty will be tested. You must decide whether you will follow your heart, or your mind.
Compassion won in the end, and Frostberry promised to keep Codtail's pregnancy a secret, only if Codtail promised to stop seeing the tom once and for all. They had at last come to an agreement, and Frostberry now kept a close eye on Codtail. Within time three kits are born on the outskirts of SkyClan's territory, with Silverwisp and Frostberry by Codtail's side. Orchidkit, Perchkit, and Littlekit are born and are immediately put under Silverwisp's care.
Even after the kit's birth there is a rift between the two medicine cats, with Codtail constantly fretting over her kits in the nursery. Though they are announced to be Silverwisp's, the clan is overjoyed at the prospect of new kits for the clan to care for. The litter is immediately welcomed into SkyClan's ranks, even though Frostberry can tell Codtail has grown different. She was not as interested in her duties, and only focused on her medicine cat duties when prompted to by Frostberry.
The clan is at peace, but Frostberry suffered from fitful sleeps with dreams of arguments and blood. Each night the medicine cat would awake panting, eyes wide with the fear they would wake up to a camp full of fighting cats. Eventually Codtail's kits were apprenticed but they did not last long, Honeystar barged into camp with her deputy and two senior warriors demanding they be given their kits back.
Codtail's secret is out and [leader name] orders Codtail to step down from her role as a medicine cat immediately, leaving Frostberry as the sole medicine cat of SkyClan.
MEDICINE CAT
Orchidpaw had gone to WindClan to be with her father, meanwhile Perchpaw and Littlepaw remain in SkyClan. Frostberry and Silverwisp are punished for keeping the pregnancy a secret- while Codtail is cast out of SkyClan completely.
For the first time in a long time the WindClan border is tense with the threat of war. SkyClan cats seem eager to get ready to fight, while Frostberry frets over the wellbeing of their clanmates. [leader name] and Breezefoot seem content with letting their clanmates ready themselves for war, despite Frostberry's attempts.
