ALDERSTRIKE of DUSKCLAN
44 MOONS • WARRIOR
TOM • HETEROSEXUAL
SHORT DESCRIPTION
muscular brown tabby tom with green eyes.
PERSONALITY
- Intimidating – More by his large appearance than anything else, he strikes most cats as a large, intimidating and ferocious tom who seems all to ready to stand in someone’s way.
- Strong – Both in strength and in mind, his resilience and physical benefits keep others around him on their toes, and he stands always as a formidable opponent in battle.
- Gentle – Perhaps one of his strongest traits, he is a cat who outside the battlefield, takes care with those around him, often turning into a bit of a push-over in sparring and general training.
- Quick-thinking – Always thinking on the spot, there is rarely much a delay between events and what actions he takes, whether that’s verbally or physically.
- Witty – Alderstrike always seems to have a quip to throw in anyone’s direction, particular Canarycry’s when the situation calls for it. Sometimes, this can lend itself to comments being made an inappropriate times.
- Compassionate – Alderstrike does care deeply for those around him, and for the most part does what he can to help, and give leeway to those around him. He wants his family to be safe above all else.
- Thick-skinned – It takes a lot to get to this tom, as he’s far from the sensitive type. Of course like all people he has his weak points in his family, but for a most part, everything rolls off his back.
- Passionate – While he can struggle occasionally with what he’s passionate for, Alderstrike is a cat who, when his mind is made up, puts his heart and soul into what he does.
- Unguided – His mind tends to change frequently on what he exactly wants out of life, whether he has ambition, whether he wants to be a loner. He tends to drift almost within the clan routines.
- Flirt – Perhaps one of his worse qualities, despite being loyal to Canarycry with his whole heart, he does have the tendency to be a rather large flirt, and that isn’t restrained to just his mate. While these days he wouldn’t think of doing anything more, it is still an issue.
- Outspoken – Alderstrike is not the type of cat who keep his beliefs to himself. If there’s a chance to speak up, even at the chance of offending, he will voice for what he believes and stand on those ground.
- Reckless – With a tendency to rush into things and make snap decisions on impulse, he has a reckless streak that runs a mile long, especially when it comes to protecting his family.
- Disregards Rules – When all is said and done, Alderstrike is not a cat who actually cares all that much about the rules. Sure, he follows them for the most part, but when it comes to what will benefit his family and clan most, he will do it and take the fall.
HISTORY
- Alderstrike’s family was a small, yet esteemed one. Both Mousestripe and Tigertooth were skilled and respected warriors, known for their size and strength, perhaps even abnormally so. It was no surprise to anyone that when the two welcomed their kits into the world, Alderkit and Oak-kit were in no chance of dying due to size or ill-health.
- Strong and bouncing, the two toms were close from the start, and both full of more than enough energy. While Oak-kit sought out the limelight, Alderkit was always happy to hang back a little, the slightly more mature of the two.
- Their shared disregard for the rules came early though, and it seemed like the latter part of their kithood was spent breaking out of camp, and trying to get further away before their were caught. Inevitably, it led to their apprentice ceremony being delayed an extra moon, the only thing to stop the trend.
- Eventually, Alderpaw became an apprentice, and his habits did turn quieter, and certainly a little more respectful of the rules, even if he still broke them without regard. Stormstep, his mentor, tried to get the importance of them into his head, however, despite Alderpaw’s agreements, it never sunk in truly. If anything, it made him question them more.
- In many ways, he didn’t take advantage of his training, doing the minimum and focusing more on the world around him, what he wanted to do. That was until he was ten moons old, and faced with a fox on the edge of the territory, and alone. Being unable to fight it successfully, all he could do was run until he found another patrol, who battled the lone creature off. However, it was wakeup call enough.
- He put his mind to each lesson, and his skills grew quickly. With great strength and a surprising bit of speed, he caught up enough to stand with his brother at thirteen moons to earn his warrior name.
- He continued his solo training, relaxing more into the sway of clan life, making bad jokes and generally seeming like he couldn’t hurt a fly if he wanted to. In many ways, he had no intention of. The fox had taught him that despite needing to know how to fight, it would also give him the choice on if he wanted to or not.
- Eventually, a newer warrior, Canarycry, caught his attention. While he tried to make conversation here and there, she didn’t seem to take all that much notice. Like most of the clan really. He didn’t mind all that much, however. That was just the way things were.
- At least, until he was assigned Falconpaw as an apprentice, Canarycry’s brother. It was a chance however, to finally talk with Canarycry properly, as Falconpaw and Littlepaw insisted on training together. Regardless of her boldness and occasional sharpness, well, she had his focus. There weren’t many other cats quite like her.
- It was the dog event that changed things for the better. Stuck up a tree after a few quips back and forth, it had been the sort of situation he’d been hoping to avoid running into in his life again. Almost worse than the fox. However, Littlepaw got them out by launching onto the dog’s face. But, it was not the only dog, and returning to camp, Sparrowpaw’s death was announced. All Alderstrike could do was offer his support to Cnacanrycry and Falconpaw, even if the situation was beyond him, somewhat. He couldn’t even imagine losing a family member, and Cancarycry was very much included in that. It marked the change in their relationship for good.
- Littlepaw and Falconpaw became Littlethunder and Falconclaw, and the announcement came that Canarycry was having their kits. There weren’t many moments that brightened him up quite like that. While he was sure she needed to go the nursery without hesitation, Canarycry argued otherwise, and stayed with her duties till it was almost time for the kits to come themselves. That alone had him exasperated.
- Thrushkit and Swiftkit were the names the two were given upon their birth, in naming tradition, and to hope for speed on their paws in the face of danger. Something he was coming to value deeply.
- Time went on, Swiftpaw and Thrushpaw becoming apprentices, and Honeystar passing on to StarClan, leaving Crowstar to lead DuskClan into the future. A fine enough situation for him. Especially when Canarycry became deputy. It was a position she’d thrive in.
- Clan life continues on, with Thrushwing and Swiftblaze made warriors, and the clan thriving on.
